Rick Warren: Another One Relents to the Liberal Powers That Be (sigh)

I always get just a little peeved whenever I hear a Christian apologizing for his/her beliefs.  This is probably why I am anti mega-churches and against watering down the Christian message in order to have a larger audience.  I know.  Profit hungry ministries depend on mainstream success.

Jesus reached out to the people that the Pharisees and Sadducees rejected.  Jesus befriended prostitutes, tax-collectors (yes they were loathed back then too! ) and other people who were considered 'unclean' by the people of Israel.  Jesus NEVER apologized for his beliefs.  Jesus NEVER sugarcoated and watered down his message.  Jesus's message is a call for repentance because the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Matthew 3:2).  Jesus even warned 'us' Christians that 'they'will hate us for his name (Mark 13:13).   In essence, Jesus was preparing us for the attacks on absolute truth and moral accountability.  Two things liberals abhor more than letting people keep the money they earn.

The Christian message is simple:  We are sinners. We are in need of a Savior who will save us by Grace if we accept him as our Lord and Eternal Father. We show our love and demonstrate that we are saved by adhering to the precepts that he delineates in his 'WORD'--what we like to call the HOLY BIBLE.  If we reject this gift of salvation, then the wages of sin is death, and separation from our loving father for eternity.

So why is Mr. Warren apologizing to 'gay leaders'? Why is he asking for 'public grace'?  Do 'gay people' apologize when they lambaste Christians?  Do 'gay people' ask for 'public grace' after they malign and impugn those of us that believe in spiritual accountability?

Shockingly: NO.

Who always has to do the apologizing?  Christian 'leaders' or anyone else who believes that homosexuality is a sin according to the Judeo-Christian God.

Political correctness or what I like to call 'speech totalitarianism' only applies when some members of the left feel as though they have been victimized by someone's...belief system.

I don't know if Rush Limbaugh is follower of Christ...I hear him talk about 'God' all of the time, but that doesn't mean much these days.   However, I greatly admire his tenacity.  He doesn't apologize for his opinions.  He doesn't try to make nice.  He never acquiesces to the pressures of the media elites.  You love him or hate him.  Because of his boldness, he has a 30% favorable rating amongst Americans--which is pretty darn high considering the way he is constantly assailed by the liberal powers that be.

To say the least, I am peeved with Mr. Warren.   His 'apology' to the liberals just fuels my distrust of mega preachers.

The Liberals are laughing at you, Rick.  They are laughing at you...

Remember Jim and Tammy Fay Bakker? The only Televangelist I ever liked was Billy Graham.

Rush deeply believes in God. He also believes in people.

I've had problems with Rick Warren for what seems like forever. Recent events have only confirmed my distrust of him.

However, there are mega churches that are mega churches BECAUSE they are uncompromising. John MacArthur comes to mind.
