Because it’s the ‘Crazy’ ‘Right’ wing ‘Extremists’ we have to be afraid of

So according to the DHS report ‘right wing extremists’ are the new threat.  Right-wing extremists are defined as those who believe in that part of the CONSTITUTION that says law-abiding Americans have a right to bear arms.  If that's not bad enough, right wing “extremists” are further defined as those of us who are against baby-killing and those of us who decry big, oppressive government.

Incidentally, liberals have overwhelmingly committed the most heinous crimes in the name of egalitarianism or whatever other cause du jour.

John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865 because he was against the Republican War policies.  You remember that war, right?  You know, the one started by REPUBLICANS who wanted to end SLAVERY and SAVE the UNION.

Charles J. Guiteau shot James Garfield in 1881.  He had a long relationship with a ‘utopian’ commune called the Oneida Community where ‘free love’ and communal child-rearing was practiced.

Leon Czolgosz killed President William McKinley in 1901.  He was an avid socialist and anarchist.

Guiseppe Zangara shot (but missed) Franklin Roosevelt in 1933 because he was angry with the capitalists and wanted to make even with them.  Kind of like the protesters we saw in Europe a few weeks ago.  Remember the ones that killed a man, attacked police officers, and damaged private property?

Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy in November of 1963 and was a fervent communist.  After he was captured, his first call was placed to John Abt, who was a lawyer for the American Communist Party.

Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, pointed a loaded gun at Gerald Ford in 1975 and was also part of Charles Manson’s hippie cult.

Sara Jane Moore also tried to kill Ford because the government had “declared war on the left”.

Williams Ayers & Bernadine Dohrn, a.k.a “Students for a Democratic Society” a.k.a “Weathermen Underground”a.k.a “I’m not sorry for setting bombs on American soil”…Remember those contrite distinguished professors at the University of Chicago we couldn’t talk about during the campaign…?

There’s more.   I don’t have time to list them all.  You get the idea.

We have whack jobs and hard working Americans on both sides of the aisle.  It’s the double standards, revisionist history, and the ‘voluntary selective amnesia’ that gets me riled.

I see you've omitted some important assassinations by right wing extremists, so I figured I'd help you out.

Benito Mussolini: Italian fascist dictator, assassinated Giacomo Matteotti, an opponent of fascism, along with anyone else who stood in his way. Inspiration to Hitler and future fascist dictators around the world.

Nathuram Godse: Shot and killed Gandhi in 1948, part of the radical right-wing RSS in India

Osama bin Laden: Islamic extremist, terrorist, and right-wing nutjob. Responsible for the mass killings on 9/11, known for his resentment of all things communist, socialist or democratic.

Sirhan Sirhan: Right-wing Arab nationalist who shot and killed Bobby Kennedy in 1968

Adolph Hitler: My personal favorite right-wing extremist! Had Gregor Strasser (opponent of the Nazi party) and Kurt Von Schleichter (former German chancellor) both assassinated. Oh yeah, and then there's that whole six million Jews thing...

My point is, extremism is bad in general, no matter which side it's coming from. Yes, those you listed committed heinous crimes and were terrible people, but your side has people just as bad, if not worse. Why can't more people just calm down a little bit and be reasonable? Ever heard of assassinations of or by moderates? Didn't think so.

Oh, and don't call the Manson psychos hippies. Maybe they had long hair, but hippies don't kill people.

Um, I definitely believe that there are whacko’s on both sides…and I’m sure I wrote that in my last paragraph.  The reason why right-wing “extremists” like myself are upset is because THE MAJORITY of HEINOUS crimes committed on American soil are by left-wing nut jobs---not bible thumpers, pro-lifers, and veterans.  So if the Department of Homeland Security were truly “concerned” for the safety of Americans, and not partisan “attacks”-they would send out memos about the real culprits-at least those ACTUALLY prone to violence- historically speaking.

How disingenuous of you to believe that Mussolini’s ideological perspective is in any way shape or form comparable to modern day American right-wingers.  Mussolini believed that the government should play an active role in addressing issues such as unemployment-so he actively pushed for government initiatives through public construction programs to help assuage the unemployment levels in Italy.  He taxed his people at confiscatory rates….and at one point owned 75% of  businesses in Italy…sound familiar?  He also created the illusion of free unbiased press-all of the aforementioned are straight from the American Liberal Playbook.

Usama Bin Laden believes that everyone should be under Sharia law.  Maybe I missed something, but I’m not really sure what that has to do with American right-wing ‘extremists‘…???

As for Sirhan Sirhan, he killed Kennedy because he was an Arab Nationalist and because Kennedy supported Israel.  I’m pretty sure most right-wing extremists in America support Israel.  Moreover, Arab nationalism is the belief that all cultures and countries in the middle east are “one” and therefore they should shun any intrusion of western culture.  Modern day, right-wing American “extremists” believe in that silly thing called “individualism” and spreading democracy…hence the reason for our invasion into Iraq.

Hitler rose to power promoting class envy, socialism, and economic egalitarianism.  He also believed in Darwinism, and pushed the Eugenics movement…all of these are again more related to the modern day American Left.  But maybe I missed something when I was in history classes so maybe you can elucidate for me what your examples have to do with the modern day right-wing movement…?

I guess if one were to take a cursory glance at the cases you mentioned one would assume that the individuals you consider “right-wing” extremists are closely related-at least ideologically- to Americans on the ‘right’.   However, after careful inspection, there are no connections to what we “right-wing” extremists believe.   I make the case that the belief’s of the examples YOU CITED align more with the left.

In terms of propensity for violence, my point, if I haven't already made it clear is that it's not the right-wing extremists we need to worry about.

I find it mind-boggling that we have a president that palled around with actual terrorists, unapologetic domestic terrorists, but YET he appoints people who attack individuals exercising their constitutional rights to protest against oppressive expansive government?.

Okay, I do have to admit, I did in fact miss that important tidbit, which I found after going back to look. My bad.

Also, I wasn't referring to American right-wing extremists specifically, I was using obviously inflated examples to make a point that, if I had read your first post more carefully, is actually similar to the point you made. Turns out we're more in agreement than not.

Great post Vanessa! Those are the kind of things we don't hear about very often in the main stream media.

Have you heard about the Maafa 21 documentary that has just been released? It goes into great detail about the who, what and how racist attitudes are being perpetuated today and what the ultimate goal of it
is. the shocking thing is that it has been going on for years under the guise of "helping" the black community. You can see a preview at maafa21.com

If you are interested the best people to give you details on this are either Dr. Johnny Hunter 910-488-9936, or Pastor Stephen Broden 214-826-0018. The full length documentary was shown twice in DC at the
Capitol Visitor Center's new theater. The second showing included a large contingent from the Black Congressional Caucus, as well as, other offices. They were shocked by it.

I saw it at Pastor Broden's church last week and there were tears, and gasps. The information just gets more disturbing as it goes on like when Elaine gave her story about how she was sterlized by the state against her will when she was 14, or Nixon's "black bastards" comments.

If you are interested give one of them a call and they can give you more details.
