The Pulpit Chronicles, Healthcare, and Who's Really Ruining America

I am a musician and  I play the keyboard for different churches.  One Saturday afternoon, I was listening to a young brother preach.  He started talking about how Bush "ruined countries" the last "eight years".  The audience responded with a loud "Amen!".  Considering the fact that the stock market hit record highs under Bush's watch, and the fact that there was job creation for 48 consecutive months, I rolled my eyes earnestly trying to figure out how Bush "ruined" America.

Meanwhile, here on planet earth, Obama is undoubtedly ruining our economy.

The following information is taken from the Cato Institutes Tax and Budget Bulletin for June, 2009.  You can read the full bulletin here

  • Expansion of federal Health care is expected to cost 1.5 Trillion over the next decade
  • Obama, the Dems, and some RINO's are considering taxing EMPLOYER provided Health insurance.  There are 163 MILLION (mostly middle class) Americans who have employer based health insurance coverage.
  • Democrats are considering proposals to "restrict" or "eliminate" Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA's). Disallowing HSA contributions would raise taxes by 11 billion and burden MOSTLY MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS.
  • Medical expenses are currently deductible for taxpayers who itemize if they exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income. About 11 million tax filers take advantage of this deduction, generally people who have high unreimbursed health expenses.  Democrats are considering various ways to cap or end this deduction. Ending it would increase taxes by roughly $210 billion over the next decade.
  • America has the second highest corporate income tax rate in the world and uncompetitive rules for taxing multinational companies.  Yet the Obama administration plans to make matters worse by raising taxes on U.S. multinational corporations by $210 billion over 10 years to pay for health care. A corporate tax increase would damage average families because it would reduce capital investment and curb worker productivity, leading to lower wages and benefits over time. Obama’s plan would also mean fewer domestic jobs—Microsoft Corporation, for example, says that it will move U.S. jobs offshore if these tax hikes go through....
HOW CAN YOU BE SO COLD AFROCONSERVATIVE, QUEEN PELOSI SAYS THERE ARE 47 MILLION WHO ARE UNINSURED?

In 2006 the Census bureau reported that 46.6 million people are without health insurance.  Of the 46.6 million:
  • 9.5 million were not US citizens (they can get "free" medical care in an emergency room)
  • 17 million lived in households exceeding $50,000 a year (and presumably could afford health insurance)
  • 18 million were between the ages of 18 and 34 (probably don't need health insurance).  I'm currently 25.  I barely use my health insurance.

And to think, I haven't even written the information I've garnered on this cap and trade scheme they're currently working on.

The CATO article goes on to discuss how all of the taxes the middle-lower income Americans will pay will only raise revenues by 700 Billion over the next decade.  AGAIN, current low-ball projections by our officials state that government health care expansion will cost 1.5 trillion over the next decade.  Where, or where will they get the additional 800 Billion.  Oh! Wait! I forgot, the Obamaman Can!

Um, first of all "Obama" is not "ghetto" and "monkey" looking.  I assume your IQ is lower than a monkey's which is why you would make such a statement.

You seem to totally misunderstand the point of this blog...which isn't to make racial epithets, and derogatory comments about Obama's race, because I SHARE his race.  This blog is about  THE ISSUES.  I'm proud that America elected a black president and it's representative that most Americans don't have the archaic views that you have of people of color...especially people that look like me.

You and others like yourself represent a large majority of the reason why Blacks (and other minorities) fear voting for Republicans or Conservatives.  Please don't EVER post the crap you just wrote on my blog again.  Thanks.

I agree with Vanessa, Shawn what makes you say that Obama looks like a monkey?? Just because black republicans do not agree with Obama's poicies do not mean that we are going to sit idly by and allow he or his family to be denegrated. Obama is Harvard educated, you may want to get some education yourself Shawn

Excellent article on Obama's attempt to commandeer 17% of the Gross Domestic Product.

I just hope we conservatives can push back against this power grab by picking up seats in the 2010 midterms.

    Keep up the good work!

I am a center right Jewish fiscally conservative libertarian, so also a minority voter. I really wish people would stop talking about Obama's race and look at his policies, which are ruining America for our children. An African-American I really like is Alan West, Florida, running for Congress in district 22 for 2010-- he is true leadership.
